A very common repair in homes is small drywall repair. Nicks, scrapes and even holes happen in walls and oftentimes they are too small for a drywall contractor. Whether from an accident or installation of a new appliance, small drywall repairs are very common. The challenge is that drywall contractors are used to larger jobs. And, if they can do such small tasks, they are usually booked months in advance, which means your small repair has to wait. That is where a handyman comes in.
Drywall Repair in Bathroom
I had a client in Shaker Heights, Ohio call about a drywall repair. They replaced their old bathroom exhaust fan and were left with quite a void where the old exhaust fan had been. Modern materials and techniques have allowed appliances to get smaller and more efficient. But, if you live in an older home like my client, replacing an old appliance means an additional problem. The old exhaust fan was much larger and left a void when the new fan was installed.
As you can see, the void seems very small, but it’s a tricky repair and one that a drywall contractor would have to charge a two day fee for. Although, it was was a two day repair I was able to do this repair and save my clients some money.
Now all that is left is priming and painting which the client preferred to do themselves.
